WHY DO I EXIST
JANUARY 1: FAITH: VALIDATED THROUGH SUFFERING
You can be the recipient of God’s boundless mercy and infinite grace, and yet never enjoy the life of power and rest…a life of joy unspeakable, and full of glory…secured by Christ on our behalf in the Holy of Holies. We may well never appropriate the promise of abundant life given us by Christ Jesus: I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly. [John 10:10]
This is the consequence of unbelief. Indeed, our worst sin is not to believe God will do what He has promised. When God made His solemn promise, “They will never enter the land where I would have given them rest”…of whom was He speaking? Of those who rebelled. We see, then, that they were not able to enter the land, because they did not believe. Let us, then, do our best to receive that rest, so that no one of us will fail as they did because of their lack of faith. [Heb 3:18-19, 4:11]
